During an audit of hospital employees, it's revealed Charlie doesn't have a medical license, and is under serious threat of losing his job. Will he be able to convince The Board that he belongs at Rockport Memorial Hospital, or is Charlie's career finally over?

After Charlie's recent employment scare, Anthony decides to implement a new policy requiring all untrained staff to receive proper credentials, or face termination. Most of his staff aren't very keen on the idea, so Anthony helps them out any way he can... even by going to school himself.

Anthony buys Charlie a new car for his birthday, but when he finds out Charlie doesn't have a license, he volunteers to give him driving lessons... which doesn't go as smoothly as he hopes.

Kenny injures his fin, which leads to him finding out it'll take surgery to fix. However, he's never had surgery before, and is extremely scared of it, so the team tries to help him cope with it any way they can, and teach him that it's not as frightening as it may sound.

Butch wakes up one day experiencing some bad jaw pain, and after Anthony can't find the problem, he refers Butch to a local orthodontist. They both find out the doctor isn't who they expected, and discover some other hidden secrets in the process.

Charlie meets a young boy who, mystified by Charlie's ability to talk and act more like a hiuman than a normal dog, resorts to nefarious tactics to find out more about what makes Charlie so "special," thus putting his life in danger... again.

Archie gets a visit from a few of his brothers, who tell him they’re going to Australia to visit their father. They invite him to come and, on Anthony’s insistence, he does… only for things to start going downhill as soon as he arrives.

Due to more staff shortages at the hospital, each employee in the building is notified that they will soon need to work at least one shift in the emergency room over the next several weeks, or face disciplinary action from The Board. Everyone, of course, reacts differently to the news, ranging from those that are "ready for anything," to the ones that get way more nervous than anyone else. Eventually, they all have to find a way to work together, cope with their fears and feelings, and be ready to treat whatever, or whoever, comes their way.

Butch mourns the loss of his first owner on the anniversary of his passing, causing him to become distracted at work. Anthony tries to be supportive, but Butch becomes distant and struggles to cope with his feelings.

Teddy has a medical emergency one day at work, and Anthony has to rush him to the emergency room, and help find the cause of the problem.

Jake starts acting much more on edge than usual, leading to a stunning discovery that, inevitably, pus his life in danger. Anthony, Charlie, and the rest of the team have to figure out how to help him, before it's too late.

In a special crossover episode, Charlie receives an invitation to his distant cousin's wedding on the east coast, and brings Anthony along for the trip. However, when things go sideways on the big day, it's up to them (and their new partner) to save the day once more.

Teddy brings his son into work one day for his first checkup, and he quickly grows curious about what his dad does for a living. So, Teddy and Anthony decide to give him the “junior dentist” treatment for a day.

Charlie learns of an opportunity to go to space and visit the moon, which catches the curiosity of Anthony and some of the others to try it out too. But, of course, their out-of-this-world adventure doesn't go exactly as planned.

Anthony gets an opportunity to produce a show at the hospital for the holidays, and recruits many of the staff members to tag along... including a very reluctant Charlie.

After some chest pains get in the way of his ability to work, Anthony learns from a cardiologist that he has a condition that will soon require treatment to resolve. Concerned for his friend, and the procedure, Charlie tries to help him through the process, while trying not to express his own fears.
